Teresa L. Slattery joined the Budd-Falen Law Office in July, 2017. Prior to joining the firm, Teresa practiced law in Chicago, Illinois with a focus on eminent domain law. For nearly four years, Teresa was a Special Assistant Attorney General and represented the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority and the Illinois Department of Transportation in complex cases dealing with the valuation of commercial, residential, and agricultural lands. Through her work, Teresa gained experience evaluating land uses, land valuations, and chain of title issues.
Teresa graduated cum laude from Chicago-Kent College of Law in May, 2010. During her time at Chicago-Kent, Teresa was a staff member of the Chicago-Kent Law Review, and her student note, Freedom from Compulsion, was published. Teresa’s studies at Chicago-Kent were heavily focused on litigation practice and she completed numerous trial advocacy courses. Teresa received the Dean’s Distinguished Public Service Award for dedicating significant time during law school to volunteer efforts including work with the Cook County Public Defender’s Office, the Help Desk for pro se civil litigants operated by Chicago-Kent, and the Student Hurricane Network. She continued dedicating time to her community after graduation by volunteering for various legal aid programs and Tutoring Chicago. Prior to law school, Teresa attended The Ohio State University. She graduated cum laude, with distinction with Bachelor of Arts for Sociology and Criminology in March 2007.
Teresa was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. In her free time, Teresa enjoys seeing standup comedy, reading, playing board games, and spending time with her dog.
